Autumn 2 Round-Up

Monday 12 January 2015

The 2nd half of the Autumn term is always a busy one at Brunel and this academic year was no exception.

Music was everywhere this half-term. Children in Y3 and Y4 have been having weekly sessions in African drumming. It certainly livens up Friday afternoons! Children in upper KS2 have been learning to play the ukulele and our singers with the Bach Choir have been singing regularly, including recently at Westminster Cathedral  Hall.

We had a Dress As A Superhero day in order to raise money for Children In Need. Our Y6 footballers remain unbeaten in the RBKC tournament, hoping to repeat last year’s winning season.

We spent a lot of time, especially in KS2, thinking about our relationships and interactions with one another. Children in KS2 worked for three days with Humanutopia. This work will continue into the summer term and is helping us to be strong and work better together.

Ark Schools were able to give two of our pupils the chance to be mascots at a Europa League game at White Hart Lane, home of Tottenham Hotspur, which they thoroughly enjoyed.

We rounded off the term with the Christmas Performances which have been so popular over the years. EYFS performed a lovely Nativity. KS1 then followed with a wonderful version of A Christmas Carol. Finally, KS2 performed Beauty and the Beast. Well done to all our thespians.

Onwards and upwards into 2015!
